Last year, Snapchat launched the Lens Studio application, which allows anyone to create custom AR filters. With the latest update of the application, the company announced the introduction of a new way to find those filters within the application. With the Lens Explorer option currently available on iOS only, options include face paint, and other extensions such as baseball cap, 3D objects, and more.
The Lens Explorer feature will appear in the lens library that pops up when you click the camera screen. You'll then be able to view some of the more than 100,000 lenses created so far, as well as view the public stories created with these lenses, and if you like one, you can quickly drag up and edit that lens for use.
Snape Chat points out that the custom lenses it will see have been seen more than 2.5 billion times since the launch of Lenses Studio last year.
Lenses will also be fed based on several factors, including location, and the introduction of in-app lenses will give developers a greater incentive to create more.
